Educational Qualifications Head Constable (Radio Operator):
• 10+2 with 60% in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics from recognized board.
OR
• 10th + 2-year ITI in Radio & Television, Electronics Engineering, Computer Operator & Programming Assistant, Data Preparation & Computer Software, General Electronics, or Data Operator.
Head Constable (Radio Mechanic):
• 10+2 with 60% in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics.
OR
• 10th + 2-year ITI in Radio & Television, Electronics, Computer Operator & Programming Assistant, Data Preparation & Computer Software, Electrician, Fitter, IT & Electronics System Maintenance, Communication Equipment Maintenance, Computer Hardware, Network Technician, Mechatronics, or Data Entry Operator.
Qualifications from recognized institutions; foreign degrees need validation.
Selection Process Multi-stage evaluation for technical, physical, and professional skills.



























Stage Details
Written Exam (Phase I) Computer-based MCQ test; 100 questions, 200 marks, 120 minutes. Subjects: Physics (40Q/80M), Mathematics (20Q/40M), Chemistry (20Q/40M), English & GK (20Q/40M). Negative marking: 0.25 per wrong answer. 10+2 level.
Physical Tests & Verification (Phase II) • PST: Men: Height 168 cm, Chest 80-85 cm; Women: Height 157 cm (relaxations apply).
• PET: Men: 1.6 km race (6.5 min), Long Jump (11 ft), High Jump (3.6 ft). Women: 800 m race (4 min), Long Jump (9 ft), High Jump (3 ft). Three jump attempts.
• Document Verification: Originals checked.
Skill Test (Phase III, RO Only) Dictation (English, 80+ words/min, 10 min) and paragraph reading (clear pronunciation).
Medical Examination (Phase IV) Full health check; review option if unfit.
Final Merit Based on written scores among qualifiers; ties resolved by age (older prioritized).

All stages mandatory; prepare for syllabus and physical standards.
